Anastrozole is a generic name of Arimidex and is used in the treatment of breast cancer in women after menopause. The main root cause of this cancer is estrogen which helps cancer cells to grow faster.  Anastrozole decreases the amount of estrogen inside the body thus putting stop on its growth and slowly it decreases the area covered.
