Glivac 400 mg Tab (Imatinib Mesylate)

Imatinib is the key ingredient of Glivac which is a small molecule kinase inhibitor and used for the treatment of multiple types of cancer. This drug is been approved as a treatment for Philadelphia chromosome both in adult and children. Types of cancer cured by imatinib are Leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, gastrointestinal stromal tumors and myelodysplastic. This slow down the growth process of cancer cells and reduces the size of it which helps in further decrements of cancer cells.

There are some side effects of imatinib like other drugs are low blood count, Nausea and vomiting, edema, muscle cramp and bone pain, diarrhea, skin rash, etc. Special care should be taken till the time patient is on medication.
